INTRODUCTION OF THE EVENT:
Shark Tank RTU is an ‘On-Spot Funding’ competition being conducted by Rajasthan Technical University Kota A state university under the Government Of Rajasthan. This event is a part of ‘THAR 2023’ which is the annual Techno-Management fest of Rajasthan Technical University Kota.
FORMAT OF THE EVENT:
The basic format of the event is that the Startups/Entrepreneurs will get a chance to pitch their Startups in front of a panel of Investors or Sharks. The Sharks will then evaluate the pitch and independently decide whether they want to invest in that particular Startup. If they will be interested the deal will take place according to the negotiations between the Startup and the Sharks.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
There is no sort of restrictions on the eligibility of the participants whatsoever. The only conditions are:
1) Participants must be the legal owners or co-founders of the business or startup they are pitching.
2)The business must be operating and generating revenue or have a clear plan for revenue generation.
ROUNDS:
There will be 3 rounds of the competition. The rounds will be as follows - c
Round 1: Online registration and Basic Pitch Deck Submission.
Dates: 02/02/23 - 18/02/23
Round 2: Submission of Company related details and submission of Detailed Pitch Deck Date:20/02/23 - 23/02/23
Round 3: Final Pitching in front of the sharks (This will be the final round)
Date: 24th - 26th February 2023 (Final dates will soon be announced)
MODES AND VENUES OF THE EVENT:
Round 1 & Round 2: Online
Round 3: Offline at the campus of Rajasthan Technical University Kota Rajasthan
TEAMS:
All the teams complying with the above-mentioned Eligibility Criteria are allowed to participate. Inter-college teams are also eligible to participate.
PITCHING FORMAT:
Participants will have 10 minutes to present their business or startup.
They should include the following information in their pitch:
• Problem the need for the business and startup introduction
• Unique selling proposition
• Business model and revenue generation plan
• Market analysis and target audience
• Current status and future plans
• Financial projections and funding needs
• Return on investment for the sharks
The presentation can be in English or Hindi and can include a visual aid
such as slides or a video.
SHARK INTERACTION:
Participants should be prepared for questions and
feedback from the sharks. They should be able to explain
their business or startup and the market in detail and respond
to any concerns, the sharks may have.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
The judges will evaluate the teams based on the following criteria:
The originality of the idea Market potential Feasibility Financial viability and Quality of the presentation.
